The Participation, Environment and Performance Laboratory proactively works with older adults in order to promote healthy lifestyles and for research purposes. Members of our Community Advisory Board meet regularly with the faculty, staff and students of the lab.

Dollie Metts

Dollie Metts has been a member of our Older Adult Community Advisory Board for 10 years. She is a retired social work administrator and residential consultant for the state of Missouri. Dollie is also a mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

Mary Jo Ritter

Mary Jo Ritter recently joined the Community Advisory Board. She learned about the Participation, Environment and Performance Laboratory from a lab staff member. Mary Jo has a degree in elementary education, specializing in Montessori and preschool. She taught at St. Margaret of Scotland in St. Louis and was a foster mom. Now she is retired and enjoys reading, listening to audiobooks, spending time with her dog and two cats, and shopping.

Donna Springer

Donna Springer

Donna Springer has been a member of our Older Adult Community Advisory Board for three years. She learned about the lab through a “When I’m 64” course through St. Louis Village. Donna is a registered nurse who works at the South City YMCA. She has competed in swimming at the Senior Olympics, and she writes for a number of community organizations. In her free time, Donna likes to write, exercise and volunteer. She also enjoys movies and attending a local coffee klatch.
