The Participation, Environment and Performance Lab proactively works with older adults in order to promote healthy lifestyles and for research purposes. Members of our Community Advisory Board meet regularly with the faculty, staff and students of the Lab.
Dollie Metts
Dollie Metts has been a member of our Older Adult Community Advisory Board for nine years. She is a retired social work administrator and residential consultant for the state of Missouri. Dollie is a mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who continues to stay active by empowering and educating women in her community.
Mary Jo Ritter
Mary Jo Ritter has attended three Community Advisory Board meetings. She learned about Stark Lab from our OTA, Meghan Haxton. Mary Jo has a degree in elementary education, specializing in Montessori and preschool. She taught at St. Margaret of Scotland in St. Louis and was a foster mom. She is now retired and works with St. Vincent de Paul and IFCLA (immigration services). She enjoys reading, listening to audio books, spending time with her dog and two cats, and shopping.
Donna Springer
Donna Springer has been a member of our Older Adult Community Advisory Board for two years. She learned about the lab through a “When I’m 64” course through St. Louis Village. Donna is a registered nurse who works at the South City YMCA. She has competed in swimming at the Senior Olympics, and she writes for a number of community organizations. In her free time, Donna likes to write, exercise and volunteer. She also enjoys movies and attending a local coffee klatch.
