These resources were developed under a project funded by the National Institute on Disability, Independent Living and Rehabilitation Research (grant #90DPCP0001-01-00). It included four separate but interrelated projects centered on health and participation among people aging with physical disabilities. The projects involved:
- Developing a network of aging and disability service providers for collaboration on research
- Conducting a three-year longitudinal cohort study on the health and participation of ~475 people aged 45-64 with physical disabilities
- Adapting an evidence-based intervention to promote participation for people aging with physical disabilities
- Conducting a pilot study to examine the feasibility of implementing the adapted intervention through the community-based research network established under Project 1
The fact sheets and infographics (in PDF format) below describe the projects and our findings.
